1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Tail Fleet. By accessing or using our platform and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

These Terms apply to all users of Tail Fleet, including pet owners seeking transportation services ("Customers") and pet transportation providers ("Handlers").

2. Description of Services

Tail Fleet provides a platform that connects pet owners with independent pet transportation handlers. We facilitate:

  • Matching pet owners with qualified handlers
  • Booking and scheduling pet transportation
  • Payment processing
  • Communication between parties
  • Trip tracking and updates

Tail Fleet is a marketplace platform. Handlers are independent contractors, not employees of Tail Fleet.

3. User Accounts

To use our services, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Promptly update any changes to your information
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use our services.

4. Customer Responsibilities

As a Customer, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about your pet, including breed, size, age, and any health or behavioral concerns
  • Ensure your pet is current on required vaccinations
  • Provide all necessary documentation (health certificates, vaccination records)
  • Disclose any aggressive or reactive behaviors
  • Provide adequate food, medications, and supplies for the trip
  • Be available for pickup and delivery within agreed timeframes
  • Pay all agreed-upon fees in a timely manner

5. Handler Responsibilities

As a Handler, you agree to:

  • Maintain all required licenses, insurance, and certifications
  • Pass and maintain compliance with background check requirements
  • Provide safe, clean, and properly equipped transportation
  • Follow all care instructions provided by Customers
  • Provide regular updates during transport
  • Handle pets with care and professionalism
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Maintain confidentiality of Customer information

6. Booking and Payments

Booking and payment terms:

  • All bookings require a deposit to confirm
  • Final payment is held in escrow until delivery is confirmed
  • Prices include platform fees as disclosed at booking
  • Additional fees may apply for special requests or route changes
  • Handlers receive payment after successful delivery confirmation

7. Cancellation Policy

Cancellation terms:

  • 7+ days before pickup: Full refund minus processing fee
  • 3-7 days before pickup: 50% refund
  • Less than 3 days: No refund (except emergencies)
  • Handler cancellations result in full refund to Customer
  • Weather-related delays are handled case-by-case

Emergency cancellations (medical emergencies, natural disasters) are reviewed individually.

8. Liability and Insurance

Insurance and liability provisions:

  • Handlers are required to maintain commercial pet transport insurance as a condition of using our platform
  • Insurance coverage is provided by the Handler, not by Tail Fleet
  • Coverage details should be confirmed with the Handler before booking
  • Tail Fleet does not guarantee insurance coverage or claims payment
  • Pre-existing conditions and undisclosed health issues may not be covered under Handler insurance policies

Tail Fleet acts as a marketplace platform connecting Customers and independent Handlers. While we require Handlers to maintain insurance and verify their credentials, Tail Fleet does not provide insurance coverage and makes no guarantees regarding coverage. Ultimate responsibility for pet care and insurance coverage during transport lies with the Handler providing the service.

9. Prohibited Conduct

Users may not:

  • Provide false or misleading information
  • Circumvent the platform for payments or bookings
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Interfere with platform operations
  • Use the platform for unauthorized commercial purposes
  • Transport pets in unsafe or inhumane conditions

10. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute:

  • Contact our support team first for resolution
  • We will investigate and mediate in good faith
  • Unresolved disputes may be subject to binding arbitration
  • Class action waivers apply where permitted by law

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tail Fleet shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific booking in question.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or platform notification. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or other conduct we deem harmful to our platform or users. You may close your account at any time by contacting support.
